Training courses for pension trustees
Our Confident Trusteeship courses are designed to help pension trustees become more proficient and effective in their important and demanding roles.
We share our experience of working with thousands of trustee boards to give participants real life experience in analysing risk and making decisions that positively affect outcomes for members.
We offer courses for both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution schemes. The courses are primarily designed for trustees, but can also be an ideal learning opportunity for HR and Finance teams who want to improve the management of their employee benefits.

The courses are practical and go beyond technical knowledge to focus on developing the skills needed to be a more effective trustee.
Course participants are challenged to make decisions, enabling them to perform more confidently in future boardroom discussions, and approach trustee decisions in an informed and objective way.
What will you learn?
Our trustee training courses have been designed to provide practical competency-based learning for trustees and scheme sponsors.
Who should attend?
Our courses are designed primarily for trustees with one or two years’ experience who are looking to expand their skills and effectiveness as a trustee beyond the necessary technical knowledge.
They can also be helpful for anyone who would like to increase their knowledge of pension issues and the challenges of running a pension plan – for example, pensions managers, financial directors and HR and benefits directors and managers.
Is a certain level of knowledge required?
Our courses are designed to “raise the bar” in terms of trustees’ knowledge and skills. They do not deliver basic technical training for new trustees as this is available through the Regulator’s Trustee Toolkit. We will assume that course participants will have completed the Toolkit – or have an equivalent level of recent and relevant experience.

Individual courses are £395. This is discounted to £695 if you sign up for both DB modules at the same time.
Currently all courses will take place in central London. Please contact us if you are interested in a course in a different location.
