In response to helping clients reduce costs, Mercer has recently established a number of preferred provider solutions.

Mercer’s preferred provider solutions enable an organisation to offer its employees a valuable benefit that doesn’t present a significant cost or involve the employer in a great deal of administration.

Clients are able to benefit from Mercer’s strong market relationships which have enabled the development of preferred provider solutions offering high value benefits, with enhanced features and at specially negotiated rates.

Who are Preferred Provider Solutions useful for?

In the current economic environment lots of employers have found it difficult to offer an annual pay review. As a result, many may be looking to provide improved benefits at a lower cost or introduce solutions that enable employees to benefit from lower costs for benefits they purchase themselves. Mercer’s preferred provider solutions are suitable for all organisations wishing to achieve this and a range of solutions have been developed for all requirements – whether company funded, as part of a flexible benefits program, or on a voluntary employee purchase basis.

Mercer's range of preferred provider solutions include: Health cash planLeisure travel insuranceEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP)Health and wellbeing assessments .

Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

FirstAssist was selected following a robust competitive tender exercise. The purpose of this provision is to offer a unique, high-quality EAP at a price that Mercer believes is currently one of the lowest in the market.

EAP services are introduced by organisations to assist in the identification and resolution of employee concerns, which can be personal matters or work-related issues and, in some instances, can affect performance in the workplace. An EAP is an invaluable resource offering employees confidential expert advice and support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, it enables access to a nationwide network of counsellors, psychologists and experienced mediators.

Two comprehensive levels of EAP services are available: these are “Gold” and “Silver”, both of which are exclusive packages for Mercer. The plans offer a 24/7 telephone counselling helpline, legal advice, financial information, health and wellbeing advice, a web health portal and up to six sessions of face-to-face counselling.
