With increasing legislation and technical complexity, our clients want a compliant, consistent and timely benefits administration service that is also cost effective.

Why Mercer

In support of our strategy to provide compliant, cost efficient, consistent and timely employee benefits administration services, we established the Mercer Global Operations and Shared Services Centre (GOSS) in India.

The added efficiency derived from GOSS not only increases the quality of the service delivery to our clients,  but allows us to leverage a well educated and well trained pool of resources while helping us to contain costs.

Created as an extension to our existing Mercer teams around the world, GOSS provides support through efficient delivery of definable and repetitive processing.

We deliver member and client facing services direct from our team in the UK as we understand the importance and the value that our clients place on this interaction. The management responsibility for the overall delivery of the service is also based here in the UK.

Features of Mercer's offshored employee benefits administration services

“The Chairman of Trustees said that he was pleased with the progress we had made on the reports and asked for it to be minuted that the accounts had been signed off earlier than ever before”.
Secretary to Trustee Board, Leeds

“A good quality file which was difficult to prepare due to incomplete information, changes in investment managers and transfers. Well done to all parties involved in the completion of this file”.

Mercer Fund Accountant, Chichester

Typically, the processes that the GOSS team in India are responsible for fall into the categories of being

  • Non-client or non-member facing
  • Highly automated and repetitive
  • Data-entry and data-reconciliation oriented
  • Rule-based (can be documented in step-by-step procedures)

Examples:

  • Pensioner payroll data changes and reconciliations
  • Work pipeline management and follow-ups
